This weekend Huckleberry went to his new home.

As I explained to him when we neutered him, the very best home for a male goat was a Pet home.  Dear Reader Kelly bought Huckleberry and Swan and took them home Sunday to begin their new careers as Pet Goats.

This means all the milk Clover produces now becomes MINE!

As a first time mother, I didn't take Clover's baby from her until he was ready to be weaned. Thus, the lion's share of the milk went to Huckleberry.  Now that he is weaned, I must milk her twice a day.  This was the milk on the first morning.

Now I have visions of cheese, yogurt, soap, and lotion dancing in my head!

"And dogs!  Don't forget warm milk for dogs!"

What happens to, as you put it, "MINE" when the dogs bring their charm level to 110% of full power???? :-) As a teenager (much too long ago) I'd take care of neighbor's goats when they would go on vacation. I loved the milk, but my dog got more than his fair share.... Eric

Funny you should ask. The dogs LOVE goat milk. When Huckleberry was nursing, Clover was giving me that much milk, so what I got, I gave to the dogs. Now there is a line. Last night Other Half was milking (because he decided I was doing it wrong and was too slow) and he shot Lily in the face with a stream. She was shocked then delighted. I noted that this morning she was waiting for an encore. sigh . . .

Hey great! Gretta's goats are at my place this week, so I've been milking every morning. SO all that milk is MINE right now. I'm getting a quart every morning, too! Love it. Goats are wonderful. If you don't count the fencing, I do love them. Sue
