I just finished Jill Conner Browne's latest Sweet Potato Queen book, "Fat Is The New 30 - The Sweet Potato Queens' Guide to Coping With (the crappy parts of) Life" and as always, JCB does not disappoint. Get it. Read it. You'll love her. Her parting words were so profound that I wanted to share them with you: "What if, when you woke up in the morning, ALL you had LEFT was what you had thanked God for the night before?"
Wow. Something to ponder.
Comments:
SHeri you always help me put things back in perspective. Thank you so much!

If all I have left is what I thanked God for the night before, I will be the luckiest woman on the planet. It took me 50 *LONG HARD HARROWING* years to get where I am now, and no day passes without my stating my appreciation in no uncertain terms.

I can't take credit for it. I stole it from The Sweet Potato Queen. It was so simple and yet so profound that I wanted to share it with you!

Would love to read the book. However, local library doesn't have it yet. And I'm cheap! Have you read any of her other books that you'd recommend? :)

I discovered The Sweet Potato Queens at my local library! I 'think' it was "The Sweet Potato Queens Big Book of Love," but you can't go wrong with any of Jill Conner Browne's Sweet Potato Queen books. They are non-fiction and in the humor section of the book store if you want to splurge. I found my first two or three at my local library.
