While Cowboy did not sign up to fight little bears, (see: Goldilocks) there is someone in the family who did. Ranger, the Blue Heeler, signed up to fight raccoons ("little bears"), opossums, coyotes, and stray dogs, discourage burglars and truck thieves, chase the mailman and the garbage man, sneak behind friends and neighbors and bite them in the butt, mindlessly bark at ponies, horses, and sheep, run cattle past open gates, snuggle in bed, and smile all the way to his toes when you look at him . . . "Now, where are those little bears?" Comments:
What do Lily and Trace's contracts cover? Olli and Zena should have more detailed, professional, lawyer-approved contracts.

And when all is said and done, Briar is the one with the real little-bear-fighting contract. However she can only be in one place at one time.

Lily is top hand - solver of all ranch problems. Trace is second-in-command-in-training. Zena, Retired Police Dog, is retired. Her contract says she holds down the dog bed 23 1/2 hours a day. Oli's contract says something about making sure that she and Other Half come home safely at the end of the shift! But she reserves the right to call the Czech embassay any time she gets in trouble!

Just realised Ranger has a docked tail. Not norm here. They would miss it to get rid of flies. Great pics if the immigrant.

Is this like Hilary's "IT TAKES A VILLAGE "?

No, Ranger doesn't have a tail. It's something Other Half and I disagree on. Many old time ranchers dock the tails. OH is okay with this. I'm not. I don't buy the excuses these people use for why they dock the tails of ranch dogs. Ranger was born with a tail, and it should have been included with the dog when we bought him. (grin)
